Not too late I hope.

This petition calls for the abolition of the upcoming law demanding that all foreigners be fingerprited upon entering Japan. Sign and pass it on.

Somehow this reminds me of the complaints raised when the US changed their machine-readable passport rules. Yeah, the passports only theoretically hold access to biometric data, but it was still one more dig at the privacy of travelers.

Funny how many different nations can unite behind the idea of trampling on the rights of foreigners.
